Structural assessment of the dyadic adjustment scale

The Dyadic Adjustment Scale answered by a non-probabilistic sample of Brazilian males and females involved in different types of love relationships is assessed. The 542 subjects were recruited in several sites in Porto Alegre RS Brazil and its metropolitan area. Current study examined the scale structure by the Factor Analysis statistics technique. Results were compared to the original construction of the instrument study and other subsequent confirmations. The comparison of average scores of different kinds of couples in current sample verified the discriminative power of the instrument and its reliability. Evidences support the instrument's Brazilian version in research and in Psychology clinics.
