Genetic epistemology and physical education: some pedagogical applications

Physical activity contributes with motor, cognitive, affective and social development of individuals. This study aims to contribute with Physical Education at School using Piaget's Genetic Epistemology, pointing out some contributions over pedagogical action of Physical Education Professor. We view reflexively to Physical Education, understanding it both like a corporal practice and a logical thinking experience, hence involving formation and transformation of action and thinking structures. We try to answer what are the contributions of Piaget's Genetic Epistemology to teacher's activity. Study shows that Piaget's Genetic Epistemology can be understood by Professors not only as a knowledge theory, but also as a pedagogical perspective, able to lead teaching-learning actions towards valorize motor activities with feel and thinking expression. Hence, becomes possible correlate motor to cognitive development, considering the human moving as full of senses and meanings and of cognitive and social experiences.
