Physical education and the family health strategy: professional development and practice

The new thinking and act on health gives rise to new models of health care, which requires readjustment of mode of action of professionals. New trends require a look that go beyond the biological aspects and have the subject - individual or their collective - and focus of action, and recognition of the limits of uni-professional action in care. Thus, the training institutions recognize the need to readjust their political and pedagogical project and, consequently, their curricula. The physical education professional, newly built by public health, should have rethought his training, since his duties are different from his traditional training. Thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the undergraduate curriculum in Physical Education in order to examine: i) the object of the courses, ii) what are the disciplines related to health; iii) the existence of the disciplines of Public Health and Public Health, and iv) the existence of courses of training in health. The results indicate that: i) there is no targeting of the courses for the field of health and graduates have more support in health than the licensees; ii) disciplines with curative approach, prescriptive ones prevail; iii) none of the institutions have a set of disciplines og Public Health, Public Health and some do not even address them; iv) the stage in public health, primary care is not provided in any institution.
