The purpose of this report is to present a critical appraisal of the practice involved in the installment, and maintenance of toy libraries. This report sums up our team's experience from 1997 to 1999, as consultants from the Federal University of Pará, in joint-venture programs, assisting various schools in setting up and managing such libraries. This report also highlights instrumental factors and the continuity of these programs.
