The Six-sigma program has its roots in the manufacturing field, but it can be applied to a service process. However, this application has been done in a modest manner, with the participation of few companies and, as a consequence, few cases, projects, and papers have been exposed. This paper presents a comparative analysis of Six-sigma program application in manufacturing and services process by literature review, comparative analyses of Six-sigma projects experienced by the author, and case studies with companies that apply the program in the manufacturing and services field. Even with sample restriction, the results show key differences that can lead to benefits to services application.
