Health promotion and adolescence: an example of intervention with street-youth

The paper discusses the concept of promotion of health and the relationship with the practices of health addressed to the adolescence in situation of social and personal vulnerability. In the last decades, the crescent indicatives of morbimortality in that social group, above all due to external causes, reiterate the importance of a larger attention of the politics of health addressed to the adolescence. In that sense, this study exposes the guidelines of the Ministry of Health for the integral service to the health of that population and illustrates by the report of an intervention addressed to the adolescents' health in street situation, as the beginnings of promotion they can be put in practice. Finally, suggests that the psychologists' performance must be found in the beginnings proposed by the field of the promotion of the health, so much in terms of conception of the process health-disease while a social production as of objective of the therapeutic practice -autonomy promotion, co-responsibility, empowerment and awareness.
