Abstract
The following paper intends to present a complementary reading from the canonical Critical Social Psychology’s work “A estória do Severino e a história da Severina”. By complementary reading, we imply the articulation between some common critical theories of society’s themes and the cited work. We focus on the comprehension of the character’s transformation into character-form. To us, this transformation resembles Marx’s proposal in “O capital”, when he analyses commodity’s transformation into commodity-form. Fetichism’s concept appears as a key element in our reading, because it’s through it that we can understand how the character transforms into commodity in the administered world. Therefore, Lukács’ reification notion is , also, important in our complementary analysis. Finally, we seek to point elements to other text’s interpretations and, at the same time, honour the cited work’s greatness.
