Institutional daily of Kangaroo Mother Care in the health worker's point of view

The Kangaroo Mother Care is a humanization health care politic. This study analyzed the institutional dynamic that permeate the Kangaroo Mother Care in the health worker's point of view, through an Institutional Ethnography perspective. The research showed that although some professionals are committed with their work, the mainly does not consider the active mother's role in this kind of intervention, using the institutional power as social control method to keep mothers uninformed about the possibility to leave the hospital. It is highlighted that to contribute to the success of this program it is necessary to attempt the complex social economic and emotional situation of health workers and the structural limitations of the public health system as well.
