ATTENTION TO WORK-RELATED MENTAL DISORDERS PER BRAZILIAN REGIONS

Abstract

The current study describes characteristics of attention to the health of workers with Work-related Mental Disorders (WMD) followed in the Reference Centers for Occupational Health (CEREST) per Brazilian regions. An online survey was conducted and 161 Cerest participated (80.1% of the total in the country). Assistance actions to suspected cases of WMD were being held by only 46.9% of the CERESTs, among them, predominantly, the team itself establishing diagnosis of the cases (67.8%) and linking them to work (63.3%). The treatments were carried out mainly in Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) (69.9%) and mental health clinics (47.1%); however, only 37.8% of the CERESTs accompanied the evolution of treatment of these cases. The results highlight the need to increase and strengthen the actions of integral attention in mental health and work, as well as the implementation of public policies that can guarantee and encourage these actions, mainly in the North, Midwest and South regions.
