PREVENTIVE ACCIDENT FACTOR (PAF) AND SOCIAL SECURITY TECHNICAL-EPIDEMIOLOGICAL NEXUS (SSTEN): INDICATORS FOR A PSYCHOSOCIAL INTERVENTION

Abstract

The Social Security legislation has been altered due to the creation of the Preventive Accident Factor (PAF) and the Social Security Technical-Epidemiological Nexus (SSTEN). Mental health at the workplace was directly affected by the establishment of a causal nexus between the developed activity and the workers' development of psychic disorders. This article reports on a psychosocial intervention in a public office, which used data from PAF/SSTEN as a basis for its planning. The first stage was guided by documental analysis of cases of workers put on Social Security leave, plus PAF and SSTEN. A total of 20 cases of Social Security leave were due to Mental and Behavioral Disorders with epidemiological nexuses. The second stage aimed at listening to managers and workers, investigating the relationship between work/development of disorders, offering psychosocial support and offering referrals. The indicators offered important clues to psychosocial intervention, supporting the action of the health personnel.
