HUMAN METAMORPHOSIS AND MEMORY

Abstract

We seek to understand the relation between human metamorphosis and memory through an interlocution of the constituent elements of the syntagm identity-metamorphosis-emancipation proposed by Antonio Ciampa. We try to identify the distinction between sameness and sameness and how to perceive that non-reflection contributes to repetition that hinders the critical management of memory. We point out a dialogue between P. Ricoeur and M. Pollak to problematize forgetfulness and silence and its effects on memory, as well as to locate the critical power of justice and its emancipatory components. We are interested in recognizing what is relevant in the critical appropriation of tradition and why this is important for the elaboration of autonomy and thus avoiding fundamentalisms. Finally, we sought a path in which it is understood that human metamorphosis and memory can offer emancipatory meanings as long as they are committed to a becoming based on recognition.
