PARTICIPATORY INTERVENTION RESEARCH AS A METHODOLOGICAL STRATEGY: REPORT OF A RESEARCH IN ASSOCIATION

Abstract

Intervention research is a knowledge production strategy that is part of the broader universe of participatory research and is characterized by a specific theoretical and methodological framework. This article presents a research-intervention experience in which the participatory dimension was emphasized, as the research process was collectively conducted by all the subjects involved in the field (a mental health association). From this experience, we discuss research as a device in the context of transversality in intervention research. We argue that, in certain contexts, the radicalization of the participatory dimension in the production of knowledge can mobilize knowledge-power relations and increase the coefficient of transversality in the collectives.
