NOTES ABOUT A RESTART: JOURNAL PSICOLOGIA & SOCIEDADE (1996 - 2001)

ABSTRACT

The present article aims to highlight implicit data and principles in the editorial policy of the journal Psicologia & Sociedade in the period between 1996 and 2001. The analysis was performed in order to indicate the consistency of the guideline and goals of Brazilian Association of Social Psychology (ABRAPSO) with the editorial policy adopted that period. The reflection identified that the editorial policy of that period sought to accomplish the commitment made at the organization's foundation. Committed to the Brazilian reality, the editorial policy manifested their reflections marked by an interdisciplinary character in the search of knowledge, by democratic relations in the production of knowledge, by the criticism of the pre-established and hegemonic in everyday relationships, as well as by the challenge facing the need to take contrary positions to mercantilism impositions in the knowledge production.
