Hace más de una década que diversas disciplinas de las ciencias sociales vindican la necesidad de una semiología de lo material. Sin duda, la realidad social es eminentemente simbólica, pero tal simbolismo no se ciñe exclusivamente a lo textual, discursivo o lingüístico. Existen prácticas más allá de esta dimensión que producen sentido y significado. Los objetos y las cosas están implicados en ellas. ¿Qué elementos definen semejante semiología? ¿Cómo hay que interpretar esas prácticas? ¿Cómo se relacionan con la producción de lo social? Las respuestas vienen de la mano de la formulación de una cultura material. Mas la elaboración de ésta exige la revisión de las propuestas que al respecto realizó G.H.Mead. Efectivamente, en su obra es posible encontrar una explicación para el papel que los objetos juegan en la constitución y mantenimiento de identidades sociales, entender cómo confieren al self un ambiente estable y familiar, examinar cómo los actos de tocar y comprender, en tanto que relación básica con lo material, detentan un papel clave en la construcción y mantenimiento de la realidad, y, en definitiva, observar como la relación del self con el mundo físico se configura como relación social. En el presente trabajo revisaremos todas estas cuestiones. Y concluiremos que constituyen los primeros pasos para esbozar una Psicología Social de los objetos.Resumo em Inglês:
From several social sciences disciplines, for more than ten years, we are claiming about the necessity of a material semiology. Reality is eminently symbolic, but that feature is not only exclusive of textual and discursive realms. It has to do with objects and things, as well. How can we interpret objects and things? How can we manage those? What is actually their meaning? What is the relationship that links that meaning with the social? The answers will come along from the material culture proposals. But the elaboration of this one demands the revision of the G.H.Mead's proposals. Four topics from George Herbert Mead's broad and varied treatment of the physical object have been selected for examination: the function of objects in the definition of the bodily self and its environment; the phenomena of resistance and interiorization in the self's contact with physical objects; the self's identification with the world of physical object and the perceptual and manipulatory phases of the act. This paper reviews all these questions. And we will conclude that they constitute the first steps to outline a Social Psychology of the objects.Resumo em Português:
Este artigo discute o conceito de propriedade social (Castel, 1998; 2000) como possibilidade de problematização dos modos de subjetivação contemporâneos. A genealogia da sociedade salarial proposta por Robert Castel nos permite pensar a construção da propriedade social como suporte da existência e como garantia do gozo dos direitos de forma igualitária. As transformações dos modos de subjetivação associadas ao novo modelo de acumulação capitalista reinstaurou a desigualdade e a insegurança como forma de revitalizar a competição enquanto valor central da sociedade neoliberal. Propomos aqui utilizar o modelo compreensivo de Castel para pensar os análogos da propriedade social construídos na história brasileira e que marcam a relação entre os modos de subjetivação e o trabalho.Resumo em Inglês:
This article discusses the contribution of the concept of social property (Castel, 1998; 2000) for understanding contemporary modes of subjectification. The genealogy of a salaried society proposed by the author allows us to take social propriety as support for existence and as a guarantee of egalitarian rights. The transformations of the modes of subjectification that are associated with the new model of capitalistic accumulation has reinstalled inequality and insecurity as forms of revitalization of competition as a central value in liberal society. In this text we use Castel's comprehensive model in order to analyse the corresponding modes of social propriety in Brazilian history and their impact on the relationship between work and the modes of subjectification.Resumo em Português:
A Seguridade Social aprovada na Constituição Brasileira de 1988 não foi implementada conforme previsto na Carta Magna. As sucessivas reformas do Estado e, sobretudo, da previdência social,<a name=volta1></a><a href="#nota1">¹</a> implementadas ao longo da década de 1990, justificadas sob a alegação de um suposto déficit entre receita e despesa, vêm contribuindo para descaracterizá-la enquanto sistema de proteção social, além de favorecer a fragmentação das políticas sociais que a integram: previdência, saúde e assistência. Ao tratar a previdência como seguro e não como política social, estas reformas tendem a minar e corroer as bases conceituais e financeiras da seguridade social, solapando a possibilidade de sua consolidação como propriedade social.Resumo em Inglês:
The social security system approved in the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 was not implemented. The successive reforms of the State and, above all, of social welfare<a href="#nota1">¹</a>, implemented during the 1990 decade, justified under an allegation of a supposed deficit between revenue and expenditure, have been contributing to make them to lose the characteristics of a system of social protection, and favoring, moreover, the fragmentation of the social policies that integrated: welfare, health and assistance. These reforms deal with the welfare system as insurance and not as a social policy. By doing this they tend to undermine and to waste the conceptual and financial basis of the social security, digging the possibility of its consolidation as social propriety.Resumo em Português:
O artigo discorre sobre algumas das principais abordagens no âmbito da saúde/doença mental e trabalho, suas interseções com a psicologia e, particularmente, com a psicologia social. Discute seus pressupostos teóricos e metodológicos, seus pontos de acordo e desacordo especialmente com relação à ênfase atribuída ao trabalho no processo de adoecimento mental. Propõe-se a subsidiar as investigações neste campo do conhecimento e evitar o emprego arbitrário e a-crítico de conceitos e procedimentos conflitantes. Identifica, no conjunto de teorias sobre estresse, uma ênfase nos pressupostos cognitivo-comportamentais, na metodologia quantitativa e uma aproximação com os postulados da psicologia social científica; reconhece na psicodinâmica do trabalho, fundamentos psicanalíticos na concepção teórico-conceitual e de ciência e pesquisa. Distingue, nos estudos e pesquisas com base no modelo epidemiológico e/ou diagnóstico e nos estudos e pesquisas em subjetividade e trabalho, pressupostos compartilhados pela psicologia social histórico-crítica, com prevalência para o diagnóstico psicopatológico ou para as experiências e vivências dos trabalhadores.Resumo em Inglês:
This article will address the question of how the mental health/illness and work are related to psychology, more specially to social psychology. It will present theoretical and methodological principles and aspects in common or not. We intent to search the fundamental of each theory in a way to avoid the arbitral use of different concepts and methodologies. We intent to identify in stress theories, an emphasis in the cognitive and behavioral theories, in the quantitative methodology and a proximity to Scientific Social Psychologist concepts. We also identify the model of science and research from Psychoanalyze in the Dejours' theory. We recognize principles participate with the Critical Historical Social Psychologist in the studies and some research based on epidemic and diagnostic model and in studies and research about subjective and work. The first group emphasizes the psychopathology diagnostic and the second group the workers' experiences.Resumo em Português:
Neste artigo, apresenta-se e discute-se os resultados de pesquisa realizada no Ambulatório de Doenças do Trabalho do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (ADT/HCPA), tendo como principal objetivo determinar as relações das Lesões por Esforços Repetitivos/Distúrbios Osteomusculares Relacionados ao Trabalho (LER/DORT) com o processo produtivo e suas conseqüências sobre a saúde física e mental dos trabalhadores estudados. Pode-se evidenciar um sofrimento associado à dor física, mas não só a ela. Para além dos aspectos fisiopatológicos da doença, percebemos que existe uma complexa relação que vincula a dor às vivências subjetivas e à identidade social.Resumo em Inglês:
In this article we present and discuss the results of investigations that took place at the Ambulatório de Doenças do Trabalho (Occupational Medicine Ambulatory) in the Hospital de Clínicas of Porto Alegre (University Hospital). The main purpose was to determine the relationship between Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders, the work process and the consequences over the mental and physical health of the studied workers. We conclude that mental suffering is associated to physical pain, but not exclusively. Beyond the physiopathological aspects of the illness, we perceive the existence of a complex relationship between physical pain and the subjective experiences and social identity.Resumo em Português:
Este artigo é uma síntese da pesquisa realizada junto ao Movimento dos Trabalhadores Desempregados - MTD, durante um curso de mestrado no Programa de Pós-graduação em da PUCRS. A investigação objetivou conhecer as articulações psicossociais entre o engajamento no movimento social e a possibilidade de superar o desemprego, a partir de entrevistas semi-estruturadas e observações participante de reuniões gerais dos acampados. O estudo revelou que o engajamento na proposta coletiva está vinculado a um projeto de reforma urbana, que viabilize moradia e trabalho para comunidades de desempregados. Esta pesquisa aponta alterações em níveis micro e macrossociais, advindas de resultados concretos, como a posse de quatrocentos hectares de terra cedidos pelo governo estadual e a proliferação de outras ações coletivas com características semelhantes.Resumo em Inglês:
This article is a synthesis of the research accomplished with the Movement of the Unemployed Workers (MUW), during a master's degree course in the Program of Masters degree in Social Psychology, in the PUCRS. The investigation objectified knows the psychosocial articulations between engagement in the social movement and the possibility to overcome the unemployment. The study centered in interviews semi-structured and participants observations of general meetings of the camped. The approach revealed that the engagement in the collective proposal is entailed to a project of urban reform, which makes possible dwelling and work for unemployed communities. The study points alterations in micro and macro social levels, occurred of concrete results, like the ownership of four hundred hectares of land given by the state government and proliferation of other collective actions with similar characteristics.Resumo em Português:
A presente pesquisa teve como proposta realizar um estudo de caso no serviço de psicologia médica da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Foi investigado como os princípios teóricos da psicologia médica aplicaram-se em uma instituição de ensino e assistência. Os pressupostos iniciais deste campo tinham uma vertente contestatória em relação à medicina. Questionavam os padrões nos quais a prática médica havia se estruturado. Pretendiam modificar a relação médico-paciente dando-lhe uma conotação mais humanizada, e também almejavam construir um modelo para a gênese da doença, onde os fatores psíquicos passariam a ser considerados elementos fundamentais na formação das enfermidades somáticas. A partir da análise dos dados, pôde-se concluir que a inserção da psicologia médica na UERJ retrata uma trajetória institucional marcada por dificuldades e lutas políticas, que implicaram em uma gradual modificação de seu propósito de origem. Perdeu-se o caráter crítico e contestador, para transformar-se em uma espécie de adendo da medicina.Resumo em Inglês:
The present research had as proposition making a study case at the wing of medical psychology at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). It was investigated with the theorical principles of medical psychology applied in a teaching and aid institution. The initial presuppositions of the field had a contester characteristic in relation to Medicine.The structures were inquired the medical practice. With the intention to modify the relation doctor - patiente giving a more humanized conotation, and also building a model for the origem of the disease, where the psychic factors would be considered major elements in the formation of somatic illnesses. When analyzing the data, it was concluded that the insertion of the medical psychology at UERJ portraits an institutional trajectory marked by difficulties and political struggles, that implied in a gradual change in its primary propposition. The critical and contester character was lost, transforming it in a Medicine addendum.Resumo em Português:
Desenvolvendo pesquisas que tinham como objetivo geral entender a configuração da identidade em populações infantis indígenas Guarani/Kaiowá e Kadiwéu, de Mato Grosso do Sul, reunimos dados sobre cultura, ambiente e identidade propriamente dita, para reflexões e comparações sobre os dois grupos étnicos. A Psicossemiótica nos forneceu uma base teórica e técnica de análise da produção artística infantil. O difícil acesso à reserva e sua preservação ambiental, a exuberância e originalidade de suas cerâmicas, entre outros fatores, favorecem uma maior homogeneidade na expressão e conteúdo dos trabalhos infantis Kadiwéu. Além da afirmação da identidade étnica, foi possível perceber papéis bem definidos do homem e da mulher quanto a trabalho e linguagem. O grupo Guarani/Kaiowá, ao contrário, está muito próximo à cidade, com severos prejuízos ambientais e perda do conhecimento e habilidades para produzir objetos artesanais. Observamos que os meninos e homens tendem a sair da reserva, buscando o trabalho e querendo ser da cidade, enquanto as meninas e mulheres permanecem na reserva com os filhos, como guardiãs de parte importante de seu patrimônio cultural do passado, o que provoca importantes reflexos nas investigações referentes a gênero, saúde mental e educação de referidas populações.Resumo em Inglês:
Developing studies that the main objective was to understand the identity constitution of Guarani/Kaiowá and Kadiwéu children population in Mato Grosso do Sul, we gathered data about culture, environment and identity itself, for consideration and comparison within these two ethnic groups. The Psychosemiotics gave us the theoretical and technical basis for the analysis of the children's artistic production. Despite of not having finished the project with the Kadiwéu, we can notice in the preliminary results that the difficult access to the reservation and its environmental preservation, the exuberance and originality of its pottery, among other factors, contributed largely to a greater homogeneity in the expression and content of the children's assignment analyzed. On the other hand, in the Guarani/Kaiowá group, the other studied reservation, the ethnical identification did not occur. This reservation is located very close to the city, with severe environmental damages and loss of knowledge and skills to produce handmade artifacts, that once were an important part of their cultural heritage from the past, and are now fading away. And this causes important influences in the investigations regarding gender, mental health and education of the referred populations.Resumo em Português:
O presente artigo trata da concepção de processo grupal e poder social enfocada por Martín-Baró.<a name=volta1></a><a href="#nota1">¹</a> O autor retoma a concepção de grupo presente no trabalho de Sílvia Lane, quando considera os aspectos pessoais, as características grupais, a vivência subjetiva e realidade objetiva e o caráter histórico do grupo. Na perspectiva da psicologia social, segundo o autor, é muito mais relevante a análise do papel do poder na vida cotidiana, no dia-a-dia das pessoas, do que se centrar nos acontecimentos excepcionais e não rotineiros. Considerando que grande parte da prática profissional do psicólogo, principalmente numa perspectiva psicossocial, envolve o trabalho com grupos, a abordagem da questão do poder passa a ter papel fundamental. Neste sentido, o contato com a produção de Martín-Baró é essencial e pode contribuir incisivamente no nosso trabalho cotidiano.Resumo em Inglês:
The present article discusses the group process and the social power conceptions focused by Martín-Baró. The author retakes the group conception present in Sílvia Lane's work, when it considers the personal aspects, the group characteristics, the subjective existence and objective reality and the historical character of the group. In the perspective of the social psychology, according to the author, it is much more important the analysis of the role of the power in the daily life, in the people's day by day, which implies routine events than to center it in the exceptional ones. Considering that great part of the psychologist's professional practice, mainly in a psychosocial perspective, involves the work with groups, the power issue approach starts to have a fundamental role. In this sense, the contact with Martín-Baró's production is essential and it can contribute to our daily work incisively.
