(Of) Unions of the school psychology in the public education

The School Psychology concerns with all of the elements that influence the development of him educating, considering the cognitive, motor, social, emotional, school aspects among others. From that, the psychologist school has been called to improve his / her knowledge in theory and practical, aiming to attend this systemic and interdisciplinary demand. In this way, this study has as an objective to analyze the expectations and opinions of professors about the insertion and paper of the Psychology in the school, enabling understand which are the demands for the work of the school psychologist and how these demands can be attended. Forty-four professors participated in this study , of four municipal schools situated in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre/RS. The results revealed misconceptions in the conception of the paper of the school psychologist, especially, about the possibilities of interventions of the Psychology in the school context. They also enabled an argument about the implications of those misconceptions, specially, in the insertion of the Psychology in the school.
