ABSTRACT
Based on the indication of common representations about high end prostitution and luxury prostitute, the article aims to access the fantasies related to this context and to the prostitutes. Both the context and the subjects are informed by ideas as “exclusivity”, “distinction” and the imagined figure of the “college educated prostitute”. The article seeks to understand how these widely circulated representations (in common sense, in the media and academic production) act as market devices, strategically moderating the visibility of “highly confidential” practices related to the agency, sale and consumption of high end sex with prostitutes. Throughout this discussion, it analyzes the ways in which the idea of distinguishing “high end prostitution” is constructed.
