This article presents severa I aspects of social contrai at organizations and analyses the points of view of Merton, Selznick, Gouldner, Crozier the Aston Group and Weber. It was originally published in 1979 by Professor Motta anâ it is now revisited by Vasconcelos and Wood Jr., who updated the bibliography and added some commeniaries in order to stress the symbolic perspective in the argumenis originally presented. This neto perspective was outlined by the author - in his own course "Organizaiional Symbolism" ai EAESP-FGV (1st semester 1993).
