The networked firm from the perspective of interactions

This paper is about one of the new forms of corporate organizations that have emerged in the current business scenario, analyzed through the perspective of the interaction economics. Focusing mainly on the networked company, also known as virtual company, this work starts discussing the concept of interaction, and demonstrates how the technological development promotes its utilization in the analysis of organizational efficiency. Soon afterwards, it questions the way that traditionally companies' structures are treated and proposes an approach that allows a better comprehension of the organizational dynamics. Using the new suggest approach, analyses thus the Cisco Systems Inc. Case, emphasizing the change process suffered by the company. Finally, the paper rises some crucial points that should be observed in order to an organizational re-structuring to be successful.
