Dilemmas and challenges lived by women who migrated as a function of their spouse's work

Increased movement of businesses and people around the world became increasingly valued constant, giving rise to a kind of nomadism organizational and professional. This scenario is not only the life of the workers who are affected, but also his entire family, especially wives, since the adaptation of the employee to the new organizational environment and the family itself depends in large part on her. This study aimed to analyze the dilemmas and challenges faced by women who migrated to the city and in some cases state due to the work of the spouse. The theoretical framework included the themes: gender, labor, family and mobility. This research is intended to fill part of the gap in academic studies related to interculturalism, with regard to national mobility and gender issues, since little has been discussed about the problems of regional adaptation, especially in countries with large extension geographical and cultural diversity as Brazil. This is a qualitative research data were collected through interviews and analyzed using the technique of content analysis. We identified six women in this condition in the company and focus on four of them agreed to participate. With respect to the waiver of career the main reason was to give spouses the opportunity to realize the dream of working in a large multinational company which is a benchmark in industry. In the first months, the women are dedicated to the issues of home and family and then tried to resume their professional lives. None of them could resume interrupted career. Among the dilemmas experienced by women, highlight difficulties in adapting to the local culture, the construction of new network of relationships and friendships, and renewed life. The feelings and behaviors associated with the current condition are of frustration and isolation, but also resilience and overcoming.
