ABSTRACT
This paper deals with the extent of the impact of scientific production in the field of Administration. We evaluated the Permanent Teachers Cores of six Brazilian graduate programs, as well as four foreign programs, for reference purposes. Impact indicators were collected from Google Scholar database, with the support of a specific software. The indicator used in the analysis was the H index, created by Jorge H. Hirsch. We found a considerable diversity between programs and between the researchers of each Brazilian program. Only a small share of Brazilian researchers present H indexes close to those considered appropriate in the scientific literature. It is argued that the H index, combined with other impact indicators, could be used to assess and define actions for improvement of local graduate programs in Administration, in order to increase their impact on science.
