The authors report the case of a 51-year-old white female with proven diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus and radiological evidence of severe pulmonary fibrosis. The epidemiology of pleuropulmonary manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus emphasizing pulmonary fibrosis is discussed.
