Olympic sport in Brazil: financial resouces available to London 2012

Abstract

The study was conducted in order to verify the resources avaible to the Olympic Sport as well as highlight the covered institutions. These data supported the discussion of the strategy adopted by the Government, as it relates to high performance Sport in the 2009-2012 cycle. It a quantitative-qualitative analysis of a documentary character. The data collected in the sources: SICONV, Transparency Portal and Open Accounts site. The results show a massive resource for national Sport, compared to earlier times, though scattered and located in a few sports. Nevertheless, the odds for the 2016 the cycle intend to continue prioritizing the privileged few, as proposed by Brazil Time Program.
