This paper analisis the number of members and graduates of higher education, as well as the number of teachers competing for 2nd and 3rd cycle of primary and secondary education. The sample was gathered from portuguese institutions of higher education. Were also analyzed teachers placed, unplaced and excluded that applied to public teaching concurrence for Physical Education in the academic years 2004/05 to 2006/07. We conclude that the employment pattern that we came across with suggests a saturation of this labor market sector, although there are small signs of tenuous recovery. In the 2nd/3rd cycle and secondary education, is unlikely the recovery of the employment potential in physical education for newly graduates
