Different conceptions of nature are invented by the urban order in the beginning of the 20 th century, creating a medical-pedagogical ideology that values the outdoor living e educational practices alongside nature. A pedagogical naturism asserts itself in this moment and will soon prescribe the regular practice of outdoor games and physical exercises in different spaces, including school. In order to analyze this ideology this paper deals with some aspects of Georges Hébert's work, whose central ideas conjure a return into nature by using distinct educational practices in the open air. The primary sources consist of part of Georges Hébert's work, published between 1905 and 1936.
