Victor Nunes Leal, the political science and the lines of Brazilian political thought

Abstract:

This paper intends to give continuity to an interpretation of the work of Victor Nunes Leal suggested by Gildo Marçal Brandão in the middle of the project of lines of brazilian political thought, in which the uspian political scientist brings him closer than the so-called middle class radicalism - basead on democratizing vison about Brazil and based on social totality. In order to reach this goal, we will use some works by the author and a critical fortune, with the aim of distancing the jurist’s thinking from interpretations that: a) link him to a certain tradition of Political Science, which was established in Brazil mainly under the paradigm of the autonomy of political sphere in relation to the other spheres of social life b) or the conservative thinking of Oliveira Viana.
