This paper discusses the money/currency issue in Marcel Mauss and François Simiand, its characterization and foundation. It considers the primary texts in which these authors discuss the issue, looking for the uses of the money/currency and the problem of trust. It concludes by pointing out some developments necessary to think about money/currency and trust in complex societies.
