THE NEW TECHNOLOGICAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SPATIAL CONFIGURATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCES IN THE SÃO CARLOS, SP, TECHNOLOGY POLE

The aim of this study is to analyze how the new technological entrepreneurship configurations, especially new territorial and spatial arrangements, influence work organization forms and worker experience, with the information technology (IT) sector as an excerpt. The proposal is part of a discussion on work flexibilization in the last decades, which comprises new spatial-temporal work arrangements, new control strategies and the demand for a new worker profile, which, in turn, mobilizes subjective resources in the development of their activity. The research was developed in a so-called technological entrepreneurship ecosystem structured in the city of São Carlos, SP, nicknamed “Capital of Technology” and the “Brazilian Silicon Valley”. Visits were made to companies (especially startups) and shared workspaces, and work situation observations and semi-structured interviews with IT workers and entrepreneurs were performed.
