The author examines the logical relationships between the values and ideas which support cosmopolitanism, patriotism and liberalism, stating that these ideas and feelings are not at all inherently contradictory and should be used freely by contemporary men and women who seek an identity to protect their liberty, autonomy and commitments with the democratic and individualistic order.
