This paper evaluates the impacts of multilateral reductions in trade barriers of agribusiness commodities, using an applied general equilibrium model. The results suggest that the most important subject about agriculture products in discussion at Doha Round should be the tariff cuts. If the Doha Round determines tariff cuts as observed at the Uruguay Round, the goal of market access will not be attained, since there is a large difference between bound and applied tariffs in several countries. However, the implementation of the Swiss formula on tariffs cuts brings higher gains to Brazil and to the World.
