Use of treated wastewater and of biosolid in the colored cotton: Production and their componentes

Abstract

The objective of this work was to study the effect of irrigation with wastewater and of manuring with biosolids on the production of colored cotton. The experiment involved treatments that included two types of water (supply and wastewater), four levels of biosolids (0, 72, 144 and 216 kg N ha-1), two cultivate of colored fiber of a herbaceous cotton (BRS 200 Brown and BRS Green) and two controls with chemical NPK manuring. The wastewater promoted increases superior to 400% in cotton production, independent of the biosolid dose, as well as increased weight of 100 seeds in more than 35%, independent of the cultivars studied and of the biosolid doses. The number of boll per plant was much higher when the wastewater was used, about 108.2% for the cultivar BRS 200 Brown and of 85.9% for cultivar BRS Green. The wastewater made possible an increment of more than 255% in the cotton production without seed for the cultivar Brown BRS and of 370% for the cultivar BRS Green. Generally, for the two cultivar tested, the wastewater increased all the variables and the biosolid was less effective than the wastewater in the production of cotton plant.
