THE “INDUSTRIAL SCHEMATISM” AND THE PRODUCTION OF DIFFICULTIES FOR FORMAL EDUCATION

ABRSTRACT

This essay seeks to point out the current conditions as inappropriate for an experience of assimilation in formal education. It is based on the concept of schematisms, formulated by Kant and used by Horkheimer and Adorno in the book “Dialectic of Enlightenment”, specifically in the chapter on the culture industry, conceptualized as “schematism of production,”. The present work uses this concept to investigate the production of objective social, economic and cultural conditions capable of founding or blocking the formation of contemporary human beings, thus producing learning difficulties.
