Abstract
We present in this work a pedagogical review about the perplex number system. Even though it is lesser well known when compared with its counterpart, we mean the well known Complex number set represented by the letter ℂ, the perplex numbers are related with some hyperbolic algebra with several applications specially in Physics, for instance in the Einstein Special Relativity. For these reasons we start the review presenting the main definitions about the Perplex Numbers, then we discuss some differential calculus based on the perplex algebra. Finally we apply the results for the study of Lorentz Transformations and the wave equation also using the perplex variable.
