Open-access A lei de Planck e a hipótese dos quanta de luz

Plancks Gesetz und Lichtquantenhypothese

Abstract

Bose's paper, here translated into Portughese, is "an important progress", using Einsteins' words, so far as the development of the quantum theory of light is concerned. Although not explicitly stated, Bose admit that light quanta are indistinguishable. In addition, he admits the hypothesis, not widely accepted by physics community at that time, that photons carry on momentum. His paper inspired Einstein, in the sequel, to develop his quantum theory of ideal gas. The quantum statistics of integer spin particles is known, with justice, as Bose-Einstein statistics.
