Average and instantaneous velocities in High School: a possible approach

While kinematics is, both historically and conceptually, one of the most important topics in Physics, it has occupied a progressively smaller place in the high school curriculum, and it no longer motivates neither teachers nor students. In order to attack this problem we propose an alternative approach to introduce the concepts of instantaneous and average velocities based on Piaget's constructivism and teaching through exploration.
