This article draws on a rare case of abetalipoproteinemia, diagnosed from the pathological findings of a jejunal biopsy, as the point of departure for reflecting on practice in diagnostic pathology. Rather than present a case and comment on its content, as usually happens in case reports, the case, as object of study, can be used as material for reflection on practice.
