Dealing with transforming agents: interdisciplinary in the teaching/learning process in health

Health involves a variety of fields such as philosophy, ideology and politics. Believe that "care sciences" are exact ones would thus be mistaken. Care sciences are completely interwined by social perspectives, economical interests and hegemonic or anti-hegemonic opinions, even though these complexities use to be underestimated by professionals and institutions. The conceptions about the health/disease processes themselves give sense to the public actions. The different ideological perspectives originate different formulations of public health politics, or at least they should. Foucault, in a very severe look upon Medicine, said: "medicine is a knowledge-power binomial causing changes at the same time on the body and on the population, on the organism and on the biological processes and will thus have interdisciplinary and regulatory effects". The project UNISAUDE, of the "Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (FAMED - UFRGS)", allows to interact with workers from the Family Health Program (PSF), showing that there are other ways of thinking and promoting collective health. In the following pages some aspects of this project will be shown.
