Contribution to the knowledge of Spilogona Schnabl: redescriptions of species, descriptions of the terminalia and key to the Latin American species (Diptera, Muscidae, Coenosiinae)

Spilogona Schnabl (Diptera, Muscidae, Coenosiinae, Limnophorini) is represented in Latin America by eight species. The examination of type-material of four species - S. golbachi Snyder, S. hirticeps (Stein), S. trichops (Stein) and S. semicinerea (Stein), the first one deposited at Fundación e Instituto Miguel Lillo (Argentina) and the others at Stlaatliches Museum für Tierkunde (Germany), enabled the redescription of the adults and the description with illustrations of the male and female terminalia, the last three for the first time.
