Abstract:
The text presents the document O Planejamento do Sistema Escolar Público de Brasília, by Paulo de Almeida Campos, published in 1959 by the Brazilian Journal of Pedagogical Studies and republished in the second edition to celebrate Inep’s 85th anniversary. Initially, it highlights the social and political context of the construction of Brasília, which prompted the development of many planning processes, among them, the educational planning. Then, considerations are made about the planning of Brasília’s education system managed by Anísio Teixeira which was in charge of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep) and its technicians. Finally, it ends with a summary description of the elements that make up the education system systematized in the document.
