Number of branches in the production of 'Roxo de Valinhos' green fig in the west of the state of Paraná

The present study had the objective to verify the effect of number of productive branches in the development and yield of green fig trees 'Roxo de Valinhos'. The experiment used four year-old plants, in organic production, spacing 2 x 3 m, between July/2007 and February/2008 in Quatro Pontes-PR. The treatments consisted of plants conducted with 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 21 productive branches in a randomized block design with four blocks and three useful plants per parcel. Under organic system the highest green fig yield and productivity was observed in the treatment which had plants conducted with 21 productive branches.
