EDITORIAL
We present the fourth and last issue of volume 15 of the Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy. Once again the number of published articles is increased. In this issue we publish 20 articles, surpassing the 18 published in the issue 15(3). We are closing volume 15 with a total of 70 published articles, thus, 10 more than the 60 we have planed and that was necessary for the indexation at the SCIELO system.
Another new feature in this issue is the publication of the first articles written by non-Brazilian authors. One article published by a research group from the universities Javeriana from Bogota, Colombia and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland and another article written by a research group from the universities of Aberdeen, Scotland and of Ulster at Coleraine in Northern Ireland. We believe that the publication of these two articles represent an important step towards the increase of the visibility of our journal at an international level.
We remind all the members of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy that starting from January 2006 there will be a mandatory general registration of all the members of the society. This will be done on-line on the web site of the society at the address: www.sbfgnosia.org.br. Only the members who register and pay the annuity of the year 2006 will continue receiving their journals at their addresses.
New Board of Directors of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy
The new Board of Directors for the period 2005-2007 was elected in the General Assembly carried out at the V Brazilian Symposium of Pharmacognosy. The new Board is formed by:
President - Prof. Emidio Vasconcelos Leitão da Cunha - Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Universidade Estadual da Paraíba in the City of Campina Grande, State of Paraíba, Brazil.
Vice President - Prof. Suzana Guimarães Leitão - Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Secretary - Prof. Maria de Fátima Vanderlei de Souza - Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil.
Treasurer - Prof. Maria de Fátima Agra - Professor of Pharmacognosy at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil.
The board of directors wish to all members of society a Merry Christmas and prosperity in the year 2006.
