The aim of this paper is to build up the socialization history of generations of one imigrant german family, settled down in Curitiba since the second half of the nineteenth century. Based on different kinds of sources of information, we tried to determine some individual and family strategies (related mainly to marriage and labor practices), as well as intrafamily changes originated from migration movements.
