A morte do senhor e o destino das famílias escravas nas partilhas: Campinas, século XIX

This article has as objective to emphasize the importance of the inventory apportionments study in the evaluation of impact of the masters' death on the nuclear family of their captives. This question is of great importance for the study of the slave kinship, once that the frequency, in which the separation of couples or children has occurred, is directly connected to the importance of the high rates of marriages identified by historiography. Besides, the article points out the importance of a crossover methodology of several kinds of sources for the same group of captives, not only for the mapping of the kinship groups, but also for the apprehension of their fates in division of their owners' properties.
