This article is about different aspects of Através do Brasil, an educational book, which synthesized an ideal pedagogy from the beginning of 20th century, commited with civic behavior to assure national identity. The book taught different generations of Brazilians showing an optimistic image of their Country, avoiding the exaggerated patriotism that appears on similar contemporary books.
