Ester Troian Benvenutti: for education and culture in the rural areas of Caxias Do Sul-RS (1940-1950)

Abstract:

This study, with theoretical assumptions in cultural history; and, methodologically, in the historical documentary analysis, based on documents and transcripts of interviews, they propose to investigate and understand the trajectory of Professor Ester Troian Benvenutti, along the rural communities of Caxias do Sul-RS. For this, it considers that the representations about this teacher were relevant to the path of other women in the field of education, in this region. With a time frame between 1940-1960, we seek to highlight the resonances of his proposals in education. It was considered that her performance was relevant in mediating the relationships between different social groups, and that her proposals were preponderant for other teachers and important for the transformation of the local school culture.
