Congress of Paris (1900): the section of deaf and its update on the education of deaf

Abstract: This article seeks to retake the congresses on deaf education that took place at the end of the 19th century, especially the deaf section of the Congresso de Paris in 1900, comprising them in a larger group where the Congresso de Milão (1880) is also located. In this way, we take the Congrès International pour l’Étude des Questions d´Éducation et d´Assistance des Sourds-Muets - section des sourds-muets as a document-monument that allows us to problematize the truths produced around this history and we focus on the deliberations of the deaf, considering them in its actuality and its questioning potential of what has been affirmed about the education of the deaf yesterday and today. It is a documentary research that aims to dialogue about these truths in the desire to uninstall and revise positions.
