Seven years of the Brazilian Journal of Hematology and Hemotherapy

The Brazilian Journal of Hematology and Hemotherapy is beginning its eighth year of uninterrupted circulation. Successor of the Bulletin of the Brazilian Society of Hemotherapy the journal is the official organ of the Brazilian Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation and the Italian-Brazilian Association of Hematology. The objective of this report is to evaluate the results obtained by the scientific periodic since its title was changed, results that culminated in its inclusion in the Scielo Electronic Library and its classification as a national class A and international class B journal according to Coordination for the improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes).With the analysis of the issues edited from 1999 to 2001 (three-monthly) and those that followed from 2002 to 2005 (quarterly editions), the progressive increase in the number of submissions and pages published becomes evident. The data observed will be of much use to direct future decisions in order to improve the scientific periodic.
