Language learning objects: short movies to teach Libras

This article discusses the use of short films as Language Learning Objects in the teaching-learning process of Brazilian Sign Langauge (Libras), as well as introduces the concept of Learning Objects and their extension to Language Learning Objects (LLOs). This study analyzes the production of four short films developed following film techniques through a communicative approach aimed at teaching Libras and their potential to immerse learners in social linguistic practices. It could therefore be concluded that these short films allow the students to immerse themselves in linguistic social practices, within historical-social contexts, in turn presenting interactions in Libras within real communication situations, thus constituting LLOs.
