The developmental stages of Lucifer faxoni Boradaille were studied off Santos, São Paulo, Brazil (24º16'S, 46º00'W). The maturity was established and related to the pre-buccal smite length. The seasons of greater abundance of mature, immature and larval specimens were determined.
