The migratory birds of the Reserva Ecológica do IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística), Brasília, D.F., Brazil, fit into two patterns: "winter species", which arrive at the Central Plateau in the dry season, and the "spring species", which occur together with the spring rains. Both groups coincide with periods of greater abundance of insects, which serve as food sources.
