Existence and difference: racism against indigenous peoples

Abstract

This article discusses one of the most invisible aspects of racism in Brazil: racism against indigenous peoples. The first part focuses on the gaps about the topic in the literature about racism in Brazil. The following sections present some personal experiences and discussions on the topic of racism from the point of view indigenous persons. The research is based on two meetings with indigenous intellectuals, artists, and leaders from various parts of Brazil focused on discussing the topic of racism.
